Upgrading Windows 10 to Build #10162

In the last post I had shown you how to do a fresh install a copy of Windows 10 build from an ISO file. In this one I will show you how to upgrade a running copy to a latest build.

For upgrading you need to turn on Windows Update and also should be a member of Windows Insider program. Depending upon the ring you choose, the update will be available for you when guys at MS releases it. Once the upgrade is ready, then the system will prompt you to restart the machine to start the upgrade or you schedule to a later point of time. When you restart the machine the installer will take care of all the things and will take around 30 – 45 minutes on Single Core AMD 64 bit machine running on 2 gigs of RAM. That was the configuration of the VM which was meeting the minimum requirements needed for installing Windows 10
